Briksdalsbreen

Briksdalsbreen located in the municipality of Stryn in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The glacier is situated on the north side of the Jostedalsbreen, in Briksdalen (Briks valley) located at the end of the valley Oldedalen, about 25 kilometers south of the village of Olden. Briksdalsbreen still in the Jostedalsbreen National Park. Briksdalsbreen actually a frozen river and empties into a small glacial lake named Briksdalsbrevatnet, which is located 346 meters above sea level.

Briksdalsbreen size depends not only on temperature, but is also strongly influenced by rainfall. Measurements since 1900 show little change in the first decade, with the increase in the front of the glacier in 1910 and 1929 In the period from 1934 to 1951 glaciers receded to 800 meters. In the period from 1967 to 1997 the glacier extends to 465 meters and cover the entire lake, with the front of the glacier ends in danau.Gletser attracted international attention in the 1990s, as developed in other European glaciers are currently in decline. 

After 2000, the glacier once again surut.Pada 2004 it has receded to 230 meters (and in 2007 was in front of the glacier instead of dry land at the back of the lake. In this case, the position to approach the situation in the 1960s.
